Mustang Conversion Kit
Convert your
Mustang with a 289 / 302 / 351W / 351C motor from a 3 speed C4 transmission to an AOD
overdrive transmission. You get the Dominator Junior transmission and torque
converter rated at 550 horse power, custom crossmember, Lokar throttle valve
cable, speedometer gear based on tire height and gear ratio, AOD flywheel and a
locking top dip stick. The performance model comes with your choice of a free

is the stock size for gas and oversize performance for diesel.) Cost

Performance C6 pressure valve. Fits early 1976 down only with “clicker
type” valve body. When rebuilding high performance or heavy duty C6
transmissions, it is common to find a worn boost sleeve in the
“clicker type” valve body. This wear causes poor line rise, which
results in erratic shift timing, reverse shudder, or direct clutch
failure. This can be caused by the reciprocating boost valve wearing the
inside diameter of the boost sleeve. When this occurs, oil that enters
the modulated line pressure orifice leaks past the boost valve and
exhausts through the reverse orifice, resulting in poor or no line rise.
The outside diameter of the boost sleeve may allow some leakage through
the valve body, which can result in insufficient line rise. Cost $59.00

Sonnax
Part Summary
The OE
springs in many Ford transmissions wear or become fatigued causing low
baseline pressure. OEM
replacements are hard to find, and many aftermarket springs have
unacceptably high spring
rates. The Sonnax “elevated
pressure” main pressure regulator springs
are intended to provide a
minimal baseline pressure increase (approximately 10 PSI over OE
baseline pressure), enough
of an increase to help restore full line pressure. The springs may be
used to replace worn OE
springs and also to correct low line pressure caused by worn

Transmission
Cooling: You must have a transmission
cooler in your radiator regardless of what someone has told you for the
transmission to last. Auxiliary coolers are just that, in addition to.
Water cools 32
times better (faster) than air always, period. The transmission
fluid comes directly from the torque converter at a much higher
temperature than the water in your radiator and is cooled to the water
temperature fast. Then it goes to the auxiliary cooler to be cooled far
below the water temperature. If you don't need a cooler in your radiator
why does GM spend all that money doing so? If you wanted to cool a red
hot piece of steel fast would you stick it in water or air, see the
point. For the best cooling you need both water and air cooling for the
transmission to be cooler than the motor.

Drag, wide ratio planet gear sets.
Comes with a steel 6 pinion front planet gear and a steel 4 pinion rear
planet gear. This kit adapts gear train components from 4R100 and E4OD
transmissions to all C6 transmissions. The six pinion front planet gear
assembly will provide a 2.71 to 1 first and a 1.53 to 1 second gear
ratio.
What makes this C6
Low Drag / Wide Ratio gear set different from others is the short shell
that allows for the use of an Alto wide Power Band and
they're in stock.
Torque capacity is increased by 43%. This kit contains needle thrust
bearings number 3, 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9. First gear is about 10% lower
providing more acceleration and tow vehicles with more torque without
changing axle ratios.

Steel Pan. Ford
vehicles with C6 transmissions often have oil pan leaks. The original
Ford C6 oil pans are made with thin-gauge steel. This pan is 25%
thicker. If the oil pan bolts are over-tightened, the flange at the bolt
holes will warp and will result in a poor gasket seal. Once the oil pan
flange is distorted, it is difficult to repair the pan flange to get a
good seal. The new heavy duty C6 oil pan is made of thick gauge material
and will resist warping at the bolt holes. The thicker flange will allow
the bolts to be tightened enough to compress the gasket evenly and
result in a good seal. The new heavy duty pan will withstand repeated

are now building a C6 Mega Dominator transmission going in a Cobra kit
car with a 427 (482 C. I. now) FE blower motor that has 1200 horse
power. C6
level 4 build up with 5 Blue Plate Special clutches in the forward and
direct drums, 6 reverse clutches, Alto Kevlar Power Band, R servo, 2 all
bearing lower geared planet gear sets, Transgo Shift Kit, deep Ford
Racing cast aluminum pan, extra hard input shaft, code FF band apply
lever, powder coated case and a torque converter rated at 1200 horse
power.

PATC
had one of our level 4 C6 transmissions in the BFG Racing team's entry in the
2005 Baja 1000 race. This is a 2WD 1973 F150 with a Gear Vendors overdrive on
the back of the transmission. And yes it did finish the race.
