This is our level two 1997-2005 performance 4T65E-HD transmission for L67 motors. This transmission comes with a performance Transgo Shift Kit that corrects all types of shift problems. We install Raybestos Blue Plate Special clutches in all four clutch packs. The Blue Plate clutch is the most expensive clutch plate money can buy. Raybestos has refined the Generation II Blue Plate Special clutch into a super performance plate, drastically increasing the coefficient of friction and reducing wear. The increase in coefficients directly increase torque capacity. A new Borg Warner forward band is installed. An upgraded pressure boost valve is installed and other valves are replaced in the valve body. To top this package deal off we add a 245 MM performance torque converter. It'll have a stall speed of 500 RPM or better over stock and a carbon fiber clutch. The converter is a PATC first, it will bolt directly to your existing flywheel without drilling new torque converter bolt holes.

If your car has power upgrades you need this transmission. The 65 T-Raptor transmission and torque converter incorporates many upgrades and will withstand power levels of at least 75% over stock. #4. Vehicles with a 4T65E transmission often have complaints of soft up-shifts (especially 1-2), delayed reverse and low line rise. This can be traced to the OEM boost sleeve assembly wearing. The OEM boost sleeve assembly consists of 2 steel valves and a steel plug that reside in the boost sleeve. The steel valves wear the aluminum sleeve and allow leakage of boost pressure. The OEM boost assembly is not serviceable separately from OEM which forces the purchase of a new and expensive valve body.

PATC now offers an upgraded boost sleeve assembly to replace the worn OEM parts and allow the OEM valve body to be used and restore the hydraulic integrity of the circuit. This valves are made of hard-anodized aluminum and have been designed to increase oil lubricity, center the valves and increase longevity. The line boost valve is also longer than the OEM valve to increase wear surface area. The sleeve is made of aircraft quality aluminum and has been designed with oil channels to evenly distribute boost valve oil. This kit is a drop-in replacement and requires no machining. Cost $63.00

#5. We address TCC slip code 1870 and occasional ratio codes on 4T65-E units with this valve. The OEM TCC regulated apply bore wears, which causes TCC signal (PWM) oil and TCC regulated apply oil to leak. The leakage lowers the apply pressure which causes the torque converter clutch to slip. This kit includes a replacement valve and sleeve and recalibrated spring. The inclusion of a sleeve allows the worn valve body to be refurbished by drilling and reaming with tool kit 84754-TL3. This valve incorporates hard anodizing and annular grooves to reduce future wear. Cost $58.00

#6. The continuous stroking of the 1-2 (Forward) and reverse servo boost valves wear away at the valve bore, creating excess clearance and reduced apply pressures. This can lead to 1-2 band slippage, delayed engagements, 1-2 shift flares, and decreased reverse pressure. An oversized valve has been developed that will restore the hydraulic integrity and more than doubles the valve-to-bore contact area to prevent leakage. The valve has been manufactured from anodized aluminum to prevent future bore wear. This valve will fit both the forward and reverse applications for the 4T60, 4T60-E and 4T65-E. Each kit contains one valve that works in either bore. This oversized valve requires the use of a reamer tool kit for 4T60, 4T60-E and 4T65-E applications. Cost $19.00

2005 - Another PATC first. Developed a 245MM torque converter for 3.8L GM L67 supercharged motors with the 4T65E-HD transmission. This torque converter can be used with the stock L67 flywheel without the need to drill new torque converter bolt holes in the flywheel. Bolt the smaller 245MM torque converter to the existing flywheel without any changes. Stall speeds of 2200 to 4000 RPM can be ordered. The larger converter bolt circle is built right on the smaller converter. This is done with an adapter ring built onto the torque converter. Up until 3-18-2005 new converter bolt holes had to be drilled in the flywheel that was built for the 258MM converter.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

#7TR. 4T65E, 245 MM performance torque converter. It'll have a stall speed of 500 RPM or better over stock (you choose) and a carbon fiber clutch. The stock size torque converter is 258 MM on the 4T65E-HD transmission. A smaller lighter torque converter with a higher stall speed means more power to the wheels and faster times. This converter weighs 5 1/2 pounds less than the 258 MM converter. This torque converter fits L67 and L32 motors. Cost $399.00 plus a $50.00 core charge if you don't trade-in a 258MM converter.

#3. 4T60E hard final drive sun gear. Upon rebuilding the 4T60 transmissions the final drive sun gear is often found damaged. The helical gear teeth are often pitted and spalled under normal operation. This damage can be the result of overstressing, poor lubrication, or incorrect hardness depth. If the damaged sun gear is not replaced, the planet gears will also become damaged and the entire planetary assembly will need to be replaced. There are three OEM gear ratios: 2.84 (38-teeth), 3.06 (34-teeth), 3.33 (30 teeth). This gear is for the more popular 3.33 (30-teeth) applications only.

This replacement final drive gear is made from ultra-high strength alloy steel hardened to a depth appropriate to withstand high tooth loads. Teeth are crowned to improve lubrication and longevity. This is truly a better quality gear than the OEM  gear at an aftermarket price. Cost $17.00
