PATC Special 700R4 / 4L60E Master Rebuild Kits

These are Alto master rebuild kits with 8 RedEagle clutches and full thickness Kolene steels for the 3-4 clutch. The 3-4 clutch is the weak point on 700R4 / 4L60E transmissions. These kits will give you a 33% larger clutch apply area on the 3-4 clutch with high performance clutches and steels to boot. The other clutches in the kits are Alto brown (1987- 1996) and Alto high energy Kryptonite clutches on the 1997 up kit. These kits are custom built for PATC by Alto. Thin steels will not work on motors with over 400 horse power. Eight clutches are the maximum number you can use in the 3-4 clutch pack with full thickness steels. This is a good performance master kit at a good price.

Even after a complete rebuild, internal leaks and normal case wear can effect a transmission's lube flow and operating pressure, changing the original calibrations and drastically reducing overall performance and longevity.  In addition, flaws and oversights in the manufacturer's initial design do not usually show up until a particular transmission model has been on the road for a few years. 

Superior Transmission Parts' Shift Correction Packages are designed and engineered to compensate for transmission wear and to address OEM design oversights.  Utilizing a combination of recalibrated springs, redesigned valves and field tested fixes, Shift Correction Packages can help clean up most common shifting problems and improve overall performance by working to bring the unit back to and beyond original factory specifications. These kits are priced right.

This valve body kit deals with these problems:

  1. This Shift Correction Package offers regular, heavy duty and towing applications all in one package. 
  2. This valve body kit services 350 and 250 lock-up and non lock-up units.  It contains parts to convert a 350 lock-up back to a 350 non lock-up.
  3. Lube modification for heavy duty units is shown in the kit to prevent loss of converter lube under heavy throttle.  

#K400-WP. Fits 1965 up TH400 transmissions, with plate. Cost $29.00 

This valve body kit deals with these problems:

  1. This Shift Correction Package offers the option of regular and heavy duty applications all in the same kit. 
  2. This valve body kit supplies metal rings for the 2nd accumulator.  This one is for the model years that used teflon rings.  Teflon rings in this application did not perform well. 
  3. The 400 kit comes supplied with a thicker heavy duty snap ring for the intermediate clutch.  The stock ring blows past the lugs in the case which in turn leaves the case with broken lugs.  With the specially engineered Superior snap ring, cases with 2 to 3 broken lugs can be used with no fear of failure.  

#K4L60-E-V. Fits 1993-1997 4L60E transmissions, with steel valve. Cost $43.00

  1. This Shift Correction Package offers regular and heavy duty applications in one package.
  2. The Superior 4L60-E kit helps prevent premature wear of the forward sprag.
  3. Improves overall performance and shift quality.
  4. Converts lock-up to an on/off system to help stop the TCC slippage code.

  1. Includes PWM Powervalve to correct code 1870 problems and still maintain normal computer strategy of the converter.
  2. Includes oversized checkballs to give new life to the original worn separator plate.

#4L80-E. Fits 1991-2003 4L80E transmissions, with steel valves. Cost $57.00 

This valve body kit deals with these problems:

  1. The Superior 4L80-E valve body kit offers the option of regular and heavy duty applications in the same package.
  2. A complete pressure regulator valve train is supplied in the 4L80-E kit.
  3. Failsafe, runaway high pressure will crack the case.  The PR valve train supplied in this Shift Correction Package will stop runaway high pressure before it happens. 

#K700-R4-V. Fits 1982-1993 700R4 transmissions, with steel valve. Cost $35.00 

This valve body kit deals with these problems:

  1. The Superior 700-R4 kit contains an anti-stick throttle valve spring.
  2. This package deals with the weak 3-4 clutch problems in a very effective manner.
  3. The feed to the clutch is made more direct. 
  4. Throttle valve travel is changed to stop slipping on very light acceleration.  
  5. Timing is corrected on the 3-2 downshift. 
  6. Overall apply pressure and oil flow is increased.

#KAOD-V. Fits all AOD transmissions, with steel valve. Cost $39.00 

This valve body kit deals with these problems:

  1. This Superior package supplies 3 Sherlock clips to replace the stock retaining clips that are prone to break.
  2. Teflon seals are supplied for the 3rd clutch to replace the stock metal rings, which many times leak.
  3. Timing is the key to an extended life of the AOD. This kit delivers that timing.
  4. The KAOD kit offers regular and heavy-duty applications.
  5. A Superior high performance version of this kit (KAOD-HP) is offered.  The package is designed for street rods and racing applications.  The HP kit produces super positive performance.

#KAOD-E-V. Fits 1991-2002 AODE / 4R70W transmissions, with steel valve. Cost $40.00 

This valve body kit deals with these problems:

  1. Just one Superior kit does both the AOD-E and the 4R70W Transmissions.
  2. The AOD-E kit offers regular and heavy-duty applications.
  3. Use of this transmission in police cars many times means come backs due to unit failure. This package was largely designed and developed through field testing on police vehicles.
  4. Included in this kit is a special design Spiral "Plus" ring set.  The "New Millenium" two piece design in the AOD-E Shift Correction Package features the Spiral Ring and the G-lock ring, teamed up to withstand testing at over 16,000 RPM on a dynamometer.  Even at that high speed the new design did not fail.   The New Spiral "Plus" ring set replaces the stock snap ring that often times slings off.

#KC-6-V. Fits all C6 transmissions, with steel valve. Cost $29.00

  1. One Superior C6 kit valve body kit does regular, heavy duty and diesel applications.
  2. This kit offers options for shift firmness.

#KE4OD-V. Fits 1989-2003 E4OD / 4R100 transmissions, with steel valve. $43.00 

This valve body kit deals with these problems:

  1. One KE40D kit does regular, heavy duty and diesel applications.
  2. The Superior kit makes extensive pump modifications needed to avoid pump failure.
  3. Shift slippage is a real concern in this transmission.  The Superior kit cleans up this problem very effectively.
  4. The KE4OD Shift Correction Package includes a metal replacement drain back valve to replace the O.E. plastic valve.  The O.E. valve can melt, cutting off lube to the overdrive planets causing failure.

#K500-618. Fits 1991-1998 A500, A518, A618, 42RE, 46RE transmissions. Cost $44.00 

This valve body kit deals with these problems: 

  1. The K500-618 Shift Correction Package will service all A500 thru A618 hydraulic and electronic units thru 1998.  Regular duty, heavy duty, gas, and diesel applications.
  2. This package includes a rapid fill manual valve.  This valve allows normal converter drainage with motor off but instant fill in park when motor is started.
  3. Special lip seal supplied for 518-618 direct drum.  This seal delivers better durability and sealing ability.

#K500-618-L. Fits 1999-2003 42 / 44 / 46 / 47-RE transmissions, with steel valves. Cost $50.00 

This valve body kit deals with these problems: 

  1. The K500-618-L Shift Correction Package will service all 99 and up 42/44/46/47-RE units.
  2. This package includes a new governor pressure control valve.  This valve allows operating pressure to be raised for heavy-duty use without fear of setting code 1763.

#KTF / TC. Fits all 1962 up 727 and 904 transmissions. Cost $22.00

#19X. 700R4 Extreme Duty rear planet with 5 pinion gears. These two planet gears (19X and 19XX) are twenty years past due, this has always been a weak point on the 700R4 transmissions. These are new OEM planet gears, not after market or GM rejects. After market five pinion planets will not work. These 5 pinion 2002 type GM gears are at least 25% stronger than the old type. The use of five pinion gears for the input and reaction gear sets spreads the torque load so that less of the load is held by any one gear. These gears are made of powdered metal, which GM claims allows for a higher overall strength. This five pinion reaction carrier was designed for the increased torque load of the 6.0L version of the Gen III V-8, as well as Corvette's LS6 engine. The 5 pinion gears are a great feature, but the #1 reason these gears are better than aftermarket gears is the high quality steel the carriers are made of. #44X. 700R4 / 4L60E Extreme Duty reaction carrier shaft with 2 bearings. This is our own brand (Torque Master Package). Better because it has the Beast shell instead of the GM shell. We decided to make this shaft because the GM shaft is almost impossible to get. This was the last part needed making it possible to build the entire transmission without the use of thrust washers. #14XX. 700R4 7 count 3-4 clutch set plus 1 special backing plate. 700R4 High Performance and Longer Clutch Life. Seven of these blue clutches have the same holding power as nine of a different type. The Blue Plate Specials are the very best in the state of the art. Some racing transmission specialists have successfully eliminated one or more clutches from a clutch pack, and have still exceeded the torque capacity of the original clutch pack. Reducing the plate count reduces parasitic drag and shortens spin-up time. Generally, it can be said that replacing an original pack with Blue Plate Specials is just like adding another plate. Experimentally, double and triple horsepower applications have achieved great success when combined with Raybestos Blue Plate Specials. Cost $69.00.

#6. Extreme Duty hardened intermediate shaft for AODE / 4R70W transmissions. This shaft is our own brand. This is a must for high horse power units. The big end is bad about snapping off. This is the one found in the A O Dominator. Can be added to the Interceptor transmission as an upgrade. This shaft is made from 300M material and cryogenically hardened. (Dealers Only) Cost $154.00

#6X. Extreme Duty AOD hard lock-up shaft. This is a must on high horse power motors. This shaft has been known to twist and break. We mainly use two different types of steel alloys to manufacture our Input Shafts, 4340 and 300m. (Dealers Only) Cost $158.00

#17X. 700R4 Extreme Duty "The Beast" reaction shell. Redesigned sun gear shell for the 700R4 transmission by strengthening and reinforcing the neck collar spline area using thicker material. Known for loosing reverse, 2nd and 4th gears the 700R4 sun gear shell has a very high fatigue failure rate. This is the shell you want to install in a 700R4 that's behind a 300 plus horse power motor. This part holds in 2nd, 4th and reverse. (Not one broken in 2 years.) (Dealers Only) Cost $46.00.

#1XX. C6 direct drum that holds 5 full thickness clutches and a full thickness backing plate. This is the drum the intermediate band rides on. Dealer Price $45.00.

#MR-1. "  MegaRaptor-1 " Performance gains of 2/10 of a second in 60 feet and up to 3/4 of a second in the quarter mile have been reported. The torque multiplication rates can be ordered in 2 to 1 or 2.5 to 1. The torque multiplication of this converter will deliver an increase of up to 50 horse power to the rear wheels. The MegaRaptor-1 will withstand power levels of 700 horse power. This 9 1/2 inch converter can be ordered with stall speeds of 2000 to 5500 RPM. Look at the special extra hard aluminum piston on the top right of the next picture, this is the reason this converter is superior to the other brand. The multi-clutch converters are a must for applications that are locking-up the torque converter under wide open throttle.
